Reality.eth - Q&A

Reality.eth defines itself as an on-chain crowdsourced oracle. In a few words, it’s a protocol where some users can post a question, and other users (or the same) can provide an answer for that question. How reality.eth determines that an answer it’s correct?, asking for a deposit when an answer it’s provided. If you think that the answer it’s incorrect, you have to make a deposit of double of the current deposit and provide another answer. If your answer it’s the last answer (then assumed correct) you will earn the deposit of the previous answer. Using this mechanism, the deposit to change the previous answer increases exponentially, so performing an attack it’s quite expensive. Moreover, reality.eth has an option (enabled for the prode.eth events), where you can ask for an arbitrator to provide the proper answer to that question. For our case, the Kleros Court. Using this last mechanism, if the court it’s called to rule the question, that will be the final answer of the event.

A more detailed explanation of how this mechanism works could be found in this blog post. If you want to know how to provide results of the events in prode.eth, we have made a guide for you in “I want to provide events answers”.
